Volta is a speculative prototype that explores a different way to organize air travel. FAIR Volta is a booking website for the imaginary airline Volta. This airline specialises in on-demand regional electric air travel in Northern Scandinavia.

With Volta, there are no schedules. Planes can leave at any time based directly on the demand of passengers. Passengers select their preference as a time range of when they would be willing to travel. Volta stimulate passengers to adjust their travel plans to one another. Prices are dynamic to reward the flexibility that helps to achieve this. Greater flexibility increases the need for seamless travel to and from the airport. Volta offers door-to-door booking together with other forms of transport.

This prototype is a discussion tool. To explore what flexible regional air travel could be. Developing a very different approach to how we organize air travel today. This prototype highlights frictions with the existing air travel system. For example, think of business models, regulations or employment contracts.
